The Authority’s financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March.
Each year the Authority must set the Budget and the Council Tax for the forthcoming year, prepare and publish an Annual Statement of Accounts and monitor spending throughout the year.
The accounts are independently audited by the external auditor (PriceWaterHouseCoopers), who reports annually to Members of the Authority in the Annual Audit Letter.
The Authority is required to inform people within West Yorkshire of the conclusion of the audit and the availability of the statement of accounts. A Conclusion of Audit Notice will be placed in newspapers circulating in the County advising people how to obtain a hard copy of the Statement of Accounts. |
